Jenni Farley dishes on parenting, keeping friendship fresh to death, and the phrase that's giving "gym, tan, laundry" competition these days.

JWoww on ‘Jersey Shore’ Bonds: “Seeing Our Kids Grow Close Has Been Special”

You know those friends you have the most iconic memories (and craziest stories) with? Those are often friends for life. That’s true for the Jersey Shore cast, whose Family Vacation eighth season is currently airing on MTV. As Jenni Farley, now 40, tells us, the former roommates keep in super-close touch IRL.
Their kids do, too. Wait, let us back up: most of the Jersey Shore cast are now parents. How’s that for “time flies”? As the close of summer approaches, Farley is prepping daughter Meilani, 11, and son Greyson, nine, for the school year in partnership with snack brand Too Good Co. The company playfully notes: “JWoww has swapped her days of gym, tan, laundry for a new mantra: LTG (Let’s Too Good), as she focuses on keeping it real this year with nutritious options that both she and her kids will enjoy.” That’s a nod to the launch of Too Good Pouches, whole-milk yogurt pouches “made with real fruit, high-quality ingredients, and real delicious flavor the whole family can enjoy,” according to a company rep and the brand’s site.
Last year, Farley made her horror movie director debut with Devon, and last February it was announced that she’s directing another film project. Amid taping the next season of Family Vacation and following a recent appearance on Kylie Kelce’s Not Gonna Lie podcast, Farley connected with The Healthy by Reader’s Digest to chat about how she’s working to reduce stress as her children return to school.

The Healthy by Reader’s Digest: Jenni, you’ve had so much happening career-wise. What was it like reuniting with your Jersey Shore family on the show Jersey Shore: Family Vacation? Would you still call them family?
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: Thank you! Yes, of course, we will always be family. We have all been through so much together and can relate to each other on such a personal level. I love them. My kids have become best friends with Nicole’s kids, or “Aunt Nicole” to Meilani and Greyson. Greyson also loves hanging out with Romeo, Mike’s son. Watching my Jersey Shore family start families of their own, and then seeing our kids grow close, has been such a special experience.

The Healthy: What’s your favorite family memory from this summer so far?
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: We’ve had such a fun and memorable summer so far, it’s hard to pick just one moment. Greyson is obsessed with soccer, so we recently went to watch the Real Madrid team play at MetLife [Stadium]. It was so much fun—seeing him light up at these games is a memory I know we’ll both cherish forever. I also just took Meilani into New York to get tea at the Plaza, visit the Empire State Building and see Wicked on Broadway. We had the best time.
The Healthy: How is back-to-school season for you as a mom? Do you look forward to it, or do you struggle?
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: It’s a mix of both. You know I’ll keep it real—I do love having more time with my kids over the summer, but I also know they enjoy school so it’s good to get back into that routine when the time comes each year. Either way, back to school can definitely be a little chaotic and I am always looking for things that can help take some stress off of my plate.
The Healthy: How did this partnership with Too Good & Co. come about? Why did the brand feel like a fit for you?
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: We’re evolving from “GTL,” which I still love … and so many of those OG viewers who are parents now, too. We still want to have fun and keep it real, but also feel good about what we’re feeding ourselves and our kids. I’m just trying to find easy things to add into our routine that I don’t have to think twice about. The new Too Good & Co. pouches are perfect to grab on the way out the door, throw in lunches, or have as an after-school snack. I love that they are made with real fruit and high-quality ingredients, plus they have less sugar … I even like to eat them too!
The Healthy: What are your kids’ favorite Too Good snacks?
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: The Too Good & Co. pouches have seriously become a staple for us. My son’s favorite flavor is the Peach Mango—he is going through them so fast I can’t keep up.
The Healthy: If one of your kids told you that they want to be famous or become a reality star, what would be your advice to them?
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: I would make sure it’s something they really want to do first! If they’re really passionate about something, I’ll always support their goals.
The Healthy: What’s one self-care habit you refuse to skip?
Jenni “JWoww” Farley: Something I like to remember is that I’m so many things—being a parent isn’t the only thing about me. I try not to forget to treat myself, whether it’s scheduling my workouts, brunch with friends, hair appointments. Whatever keeps me feeling myself, I let myself do it. If my cup’s empty, nobody’s happy.
